Brief: Dolores, the owner of Atelier 5, wanted to create a branding system that she could use in various different ways in her shop that had expanded from a hair salon to an accessory and clothing store. She was particularly inspired by native American patterns and tigers.
Approach: The design for Atelier 5 happened completely organically. I started with a black circle and two arrows, and after a few hours of doodling, it evolved into the full pattern seen below. The pattern became the leading visual device all other elements were designed around. I customised the fonts and created a few examples of how they would work together with photographic components. The whole project was completed within a week and still is one of my favourite pieces.
